Roger Taber
"From the mother of a gay son: I am the mother of a gay son and am writing to tell you about a collection of poems I was given for Christmas - The Third Eye: poems by R. N. Taber. Like his other volumes - Love And Human Remains & First Person Plural - it has a gay section; there are also gay poems in other sections where appropriate. As far as I know, Roger Taber is the only contemporary poet who combines gay and other poems in his work. I have also seeen some of his gay poems in (general) Forward Press anthologies. My family enjoy Roger Taber's poetry very much but his gay poetry touches us in particular as it was not easy coming to terms with my son being gay. I have been in touch with Roger by e-mail. My son and the rest of our family especially applaud the fact that he expresses the view that gay poetry should no more be seen as a genre-within-a-genre separate from mainstream poetry/literature than gay men and women should be seen as separate from mainstream society. Details of his poetry collections are on amazon.co.uk as well as some reviews; there is also an amazon link on his home page."

Battlefront
In a social education class it seemed to be acceptable to make homophobic comments when racism would have resulted in disciplinary action from the teacher. It seems that homophobia is a uniquely accepted form of prejudice. We want to do something to change this attitude. We also want to provide support for victims of homophobia.

We have created this site for black lgbt people and their friends . This is a site for everyone! No matter what race you are, we all share a common philosophy -- that is, that we welcome diversity. Rejoice, enjoy, and explore the diversities, differences, and excitement of our cultures. Let's work towards making a world where there is no racism, prejudice and homophobia. It's our diversity that makes us strong! Although the site is titled 'UK Black Out', we do not mean to exclude any race. We are simply trying to provide a service for which there is a gap in the market. Everyone is welcomed to participate. We do not promote racial divide. In fact, we will post information on any topic which we think is relevant to our audience, be it black, white, Asian, or Latin.
